He is! I am designing an elephant youngster in crochet. When I started Son’s Popkes, I made all my favourite animals first. I worried a bit about what would happen when I ran out of them. But the worries were completely unnecessarily.
Even though the animals I am currently designing are not my personal favourites (I do love animals in particular and they can’t all be best-loved), I still ever so enjoy designing them in crochet. With every animal I make, I totally get sucked into the proces. How should I do this, what is the best shape for that. It always is an exciting thing to do and I enjoyed making every animal I’ve made so far.
This little elephant is already beginning to take shape. I am quite pleased with the head and ears I made and have a good picture in my mind of how to make the arms and legs. A crochet elephant is on its way!
Oh Sonja another winner!! Can’t wait to meet him. My granddaughter is still too young to appreciate these little animals so I’m holding them back for a while (which means I get to admire them at home for as long as possible) – when she eventually owns them all she’ll have enough to populate a farmyard, a woodland and a zoo! She’ll be enchanted 😊xx
Yay for the crochet elephant 🙂 I’m so excited! I am learning crochet so I can make animals and your designs are my fav! I’m going to going to buy your set of four from craftsy as soon as I get around to it 🙂 I found your bat first by accident on a Google search and I love it so much I want to make a whole bat family:-) I have a grey ball of yarn that I spun that I can use for the elephant and some wool to make yarn for the bat. But I really need some carding combs first because I was carding by hand which is silly. I really love your work, and I am looking forward to making lots of little animals. My name is Moksha and I live in Oregon. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone

Hi Moksha, that is wonderful to hear. Very cool you spun your own yarn, makes the animals extra special. When you have your patterns, you can always ask me for help if you need it.
Oregan must be a beautiful state to live in!
Best wishes, Sonja.
I can totally imagine how wonderful he’s going to be! Your designs are the best!
What fun we are all going to have, Sonja! I am already thinking up elephant names – something strong and majestic I think! Can’t wait to see him. xx
Thanks all of you! Looking forward to the names 🙂
As always, I do hope Bamse will meet up with your expectations.
Bamse will exceed our expectations and so say all of us!
He’s going to be adorable; looking forward to him.
What color Lett Lopi yarn will Bamse be made of?
