Winter Popkes

crochet animal patterns

Last night, I realised I probably had missed my change to make a winter Popkes picture. But this morning, when I looked out of the window, I was relieved to see there was still a bit of winter left, despite the rain of the night and it being a few degrees above zero.

This time I did not hesitate and took some of my crochet animals with me on a trip to the forest. Luckily for me, it was very snowy still and the light was just dazzling in the low winter sun. The winter Popkes picture was made.

Enjoy the rest of winter. I hope you crafters in the east of the US will not have it too rough. Be safe!

  1. Hi Sonja! Adorable photo! I live in northern NJ and we were supposed to be spared the worst of the storm, but the storm changed course and turned north! It has been snowing steadily since about 1 AM and it is supposed to snow for about 9 more hours! I’m sure we’ll have well over 2 feet of snow by the time it ends. But it does look like a beautiful winter wonderland! The governor has declared a state of emergency and told people to stay home. We have plenty of food; I just hope we don’t lose power. Of course we don’t have to worry about the Chihuahuas because they use litter pans in the house. I think Lumi, your Arctic fox would feel right at home here! Take care and stay well! Regards, Donna

    1. Donna, good to hear from you! I was thinking of you. Let’s hope it will stay the winder wonderland and you won’t loose power.

      Stay well!! X Sonja.

  2. Popke fun in the snow. Love it! We had a tiny sprinkling of snow in Oxfordshire, U.K. recently, but it didn’t last very long. Your snow looks lovely and crisp. xx

  3. Hi Jan, we didn’t had very much snow either, but the wee bit we had, stayed for a while because it started freezing just after. It actually was an unpleasent bit of slippery ice snow in the city, but in the countryside it was stunning.

Have a lovely sunday and enjoy Winterwatch this week!

  4. What a lovely picture! Lumi looks as if he’s having great fun playing “snow angels”. It’s been a few years since we has a proper winter here in Shropshire. Thinking of all in the eastern US. Stay warm x
