Tuffs, crochet lynx pattern

lynx crochet pattern amigurumi

The design proces of this crochet lynx went all so jolly well. It started when I was working on the head. How to get a fairly realistic cat face the first dilemma was. With a bit of experimenting and an extra nose patch, the cat face was there and pretty catty it looked. Even the ears had to be special, as lynxes have a rather particular white spot at the back of their ears. It took me quite some time to make this pretty face, but I was very happy with the result.

As for the body, it should not become too fat or skinny, nor too high or short, so a bunch of bodies were made and there was the right size. Then came the claws. How could I possibly make those very typical cat toes? I remembered a doll I made long ago with very special feet and decided feet like that could do the trick and they very well did. As last I made a tail, no two, the first one wasn’t right. I brushed some pieces of the cat and carefully sewed my Tuffs together. There he was, my dear and tufted, crochet lynx. I’m afraid this story makes it sound a bit more easy than it actually was, but this was a very fun proces with more ups than downs.

Here are more pictures and below it you can find info and the links to this crochet lynx pattern.

Info about Tuffs, the crochet lynx pattern.

Tuffs is made with a 100% wool and he is sitting 5,5 inch/ 14 cm. Crocheting this lynx isn’t at all that difficult. The special stitches for the toes are so clearly written, even my boyfriend could make them. The pattern for this tufty crochet lynx you can find in my shop and in my shop at Ravelry. The pattern contains a clear description of how to crochet and attach the animal with example pictures at the bottom to help you get everything right. In the pattern you can also find what materials you need, the Lopi colour numbers, in short, everything you need to know to make this unique crochet animal.

And heads up, the pattern has a one dollar release discount till December the 2nd.

Something wet

My next crochet pattern will be one of an otter (European kind). Normally I post just a simple sketch, but this time I felt like drawing the pattern image and posting it here. At the top of each of my patterns is an illustration of the animal the pattern is for. Usually it is an improved and coloured version of my first sketch. For the otter pattern, this illustration you will find at the top.

Otters are very entertaining and whimsical animals. Every time I’ve seen them in a zoo, they always make me laugh with their curious and playful attitudes. I doubted about the shape of my crochet version. Otters their features aren’t very suitable for a doll shaped animal, so it had to be either standing on two feet, or four feet. As you can see I decided to go for the two feet option. I believe that is the most representative position to make the otter as I described above.

I hope all of you who have asked me to make an otter pattern, will be looking forward to this crochet otter as much as I do!

The long longed project

SketchThis animal is one of the first I wanted to make when I started designing crochet animal patterns. Somehow it got postponed again and again, for animals I thought should have priority.

But now I’m finally going to make him, one of our cutest looking, but not always loved animals, the beautiful raccoon. I do love raccoons and cannot blame them for their bad image. We took away their natural habitat and they had to cope with that.

Every time I’m starting a new project I’m worried I won’t succeed in getting the result I desire. I really hope I’ll get the raccoon’s head right….that is the hardest part. I have three beautiful warm colours of Lopi yarn lie ready, so I’m not worried about that. Let’s start and see.

There will be a new pattern here soon!

New Teddy images

My crochet teddy bear is one of the first crochet patterns I designed. Back then I didn’t create a little studio for photographing my dolls and because of that I never had images of Teddy like the ones I make now.

So, I decided to take some new and better images of Teddy.

Teddy-2

Because my old Teddy bear pictures are ‘high ranking’ in google search, I can’t, dare to replace them, even though I like these better.

This bear will always be very special to me. He’s very photogenic and has this funny expression which I adore.

You can find the original teddy post here, and the pattern is for sale here or via direct order.
